Black bean (Black turtle bean) is a small, shiny variety of the common bean especially popular in Northern Uganda, mostly in the Lango sub region. These also have two seasons similar to other beans.

They’re a rich source of plant-based protein and fiber which makes them a weight-loss-friendly food that may also help manage blood sugar levels and lower risk of heart disease.
